Gregory Rubin of Inner Journey Counseling Center, Sykesville, MD

Greg Rubin, LCPC

A graduate of Loyola College and Towson University, Greg Rubin, LCPC earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Psychology. His training in this profession began nearly twenty years ago, as he helped his father study for his Licensure exam to become a therapist. It was around this time when he first realized and began to solidify his intuition, drive, and talent to work as a therapist, helping people to improve the quality of their lives.

Greg established his practice nearly 10 years ago. It has been a dream come true, and quite an honor, to work as a therapist and to be allowed a glimpse into the lives of other human beings. He truly respects and appreciates the opportunity to work with other people in therapy and is hopeful that you will invite him to do the same with you.

"When I first came to Inner Journey Counseling with Greg Rubin rivers of chaos stormed my life, the pain from that, was a thread thru each day. I was falling of the edge without being able to see that I was going to be ok and honestly I was ready to give up. I was able to, stop excessive drinking, leave an abusive marriage, regain a sense of joy in who I am, and stand on my own two feet again. I have a son, and he gets to see his mom regain her courage and joy to live. My situation may be extreme for some, however, taking this inner journey has opened windows that I am very thankful to see thru. I have a renewed sense of clarity, hope, and joy, now ready to live out the next part of this journey. A sincere thank you goes to Greg Rubin and Inner Journey Counseling Center. You helped ferry me thru the most difficult part of my life. I am across safely. There may be more rapids but I now have a life preserver to get across."

Erin Welch, MA

Erin Welch, M.A. earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Towson University. Initially going to college as a music major, she quickly learned that she had valuable listening skills and a strong desire to help other people. With the help of wonderful professors and mentors, she soon made the change to major in psychology and begin a career in counseling.

Erin joined Inner Journey Counseling Center in December 2009 and is thrilled to have this opportunity to work closely with a variety of people. She believes that every person is an individual and respects that as needs vary, so does the treatment of those needs.

Tucker Brown, LGPC

Tucker Brown, LGPC integrates a diverse set of skills and experiences into his work as a therapist.  A graduate from Loyola University Maryland’s master’s program in pastoral counseling, Tucker has received extensive training in traditional psychotherapy complemented by the wisdom of the world’s spiritual practices and faith traditions. He is currently in the final semesters of his doctoral work at Loyola. Prior to his graduate studies, Tucker received his Bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in Philosophy and German, two disciplines that have surprisingly fit seamlessly into his passion for helping others heal and flourish.

Wherever he’s been Tucker has always felt drawn to the wonder and mystery of the human experience, the joy and the suffering that comes from living a full life. He brings this spirit and sense of awe into his therapeutic relationships. Because of his fascination and deep respect for the complexity of life, Tucker knows well both the challenges and promises of individual transformation. He hopes through therapy to establish with his clients an intimate relationship and reflective space to realize the change and potential that each of us carry within.
